As part of EF Education First, we believe in the mission of opening doors and changing perspective through travel and education opportunities. There are a number of initiatives within the EF Education First family that help celebrate these goals, and we’re particularly excited about a new initiative from our sister-company, EF Educational Tours, that focuses on empowering Canadian youth to experience the world and effect positive change as global leaders.
As a community of world travelers, we all know how important it is to build bridges of understanding and collaboration across cultures, especially for the next generation. In fact, as a part of EF Education First, we are founded on the belief that the best way to learn about our world is to experience it. There are a number of initiatives within the EF family that celebrate these goals, but we’re particularly excited about a new program from our sister-company, EF Educational Tours, that empowers Canadian students to effect positive change as global leaders and brings 30 of them to the Vimy Ridge Centennial celebration.
The EF Canadian Youth Ambassador Program encourages Canada’s young people to share their ideas and make them happen. The program asks Canadian students between the ages of 12 and 18 to identify one big idea they believe will make a positive impact in their community, country, and world, and apply for mentorship to achieve that goal.
In addition to giving these students the opportunity to see their ideas put into action, the selected Youth Ambassadors will receive a free tour to France in April 2017 to experience the 100th anniversary of the Battle of Vimy Ridge with EF Educational Tours. As an event that helped cement Canada’s national identity, the Battle of Vimy Ridge centennial is an important milestone that celebrates Canadian heritage.
Go Ahead travelers are also heading to France to celebrate on the Vimy Ridge Centennial tour, which invites travelers of all ages to experience the once-in-a-lifetime event.
