Rome slows way down on New Year’s Day. The Metro runs about every thirty minutes as opposed to every five or ten. Many places are closed. A stroll in our neighborhood gave us a peek into Roman life.
Graffiti abounds in Rome, often more elaborate than this. It is typically regarded as art rather than vandalism.
Our Metro stop was conveniently located only a few steps from our hotel door.
