Creative Director Amy was pleasantly surprised by this treat from Pasticceria il Boccione in il Ghetto di Roma, a Kosher bakery in Rome’s Jewish Ghetto. When her guide handed her the bar cookie studded with candied fruit, she wasn’t immediately impressed.
“I don’t really like fruitcake-type things. I almost didn’t even try it,” she says. “But I did—and it was literally the best thing I’ve ever eaten.”
