James S., our Inventory & Customer Account Manager, couldn’t say enough about the fantastic views he encountered on Spain’s Coast & Islands Walking Tour, an itinerary that explores the sweeping coastlines of Catalonia and the Balearic Islands. Here, he shares five reasons why any traveler would love this tour.
1. Mallorca’s awe-inspiring cathedral
While you’re there, don’t miss: The cathedral’s dazzling “rose window”—an enormous stained glass window.
2. Spanish specialties
Buy sweets and shoes in: The old town of Ciutadella. It has the best combination of walkability, authentic shops, bakeries and inspiring architecture.
3. Vibrant Menorca
Spend more time in: The cathedral. It’s a fairly modest cathedral, all things considered, but it fits the size and narrow streets of the old town in a very humble way.
4. The view from the sea
Don’t forget to try: the local gin and seafood. Mahon’s docks are strewn with great seafood restaurants and plenty of chances to enjoy the gin—a gift from the British colonial history, and quite rare in Spain—that the island is famous for.
5. Coastal beauty
Best beach for relaxing: Palma just might have the best beaches— they’re super accessible and fun to get to. It’s so nice soak in the sun, jump into the Mediterranean, and go right back to a little R&R.
