As travelers, we love our world and the people in it—and it’s no secret that there are many areas of the world in need. During this season of giving, we believe that it is important to find ways to give back to people and places that could use our help.
We’ve selected three global charities that work to provide disaster relief, curb hunger and poverty, and generally improve the lives of people all over the world.
As a special gift to our travelers, we’ll be matching donations up to $100 from anyone who has traveled with us in the past or is booked on a future tour.
Oxfam America works directly with communities in over 90 countries, helping the poor improve their lives and livelihoods through campaigning and responding to emergencies. Oxfam believes that citizens have a right to hold governments and institutions accountable, to expect them to respect their rights and do what they say they will do.
charity: water brings clean, safe drinking water to people in developing nations, water projects such as hand-dug wells, rainwater collection tanks, pond sand filters and more. Not only do these projects decrease instances of waterborne diseases, but time previously spent trekking to unsafe water sources can be spent on education or earning income.
The American Red Cross gives compassionate care to those in need through an extensive network of donors, volunteers and employees. The five key areas of service are disaster relief, supporting America’s military families, supplying blood and blood products, health and safety services and international humanitarian services.
