Today we flew to our final stop of the tour: Shanghai! After seeing so many places steeped in centuries of history, I was excited to see China at it’s most modern.
Upon arrival, we took off on a city tour. Our local guide showed us all the skyscrapers and I was amazed to hear Shanghai has only really been around for 25 years or so. It’s mind boggling to think they have developed this city—which is home to 23 million people and some of the tallest buildings in Asia—in that short time.
We stopped to stroll along the Bund, where you can take in the best views of Shanghai’s skyline.
Later in the evening we took in the same views, but from a cruise on the river with the buildings fantastically lit up!
