Today was our first full day cruising on the Yangtze River. I chose to take an optional land excursion to see the the tribes of the Three Gorges. This ancient Chinese village is famous for its beautiful scenery and junk ships, or ancient sailing ships that are still used today. We saw so many interesting sights along the way—the views of the river itself were absolutely beautiful.
Being surrounded by the gracefully bending bamboo made for a fun experience.
There were even waterfalls…
…and monkeys playing in the trees above us.
We were also able to witness a traditional tribe wedding.
We ended at a traditional street market where locals buy fresh seafood.
