Groups Service Specialist Veronica O. explored the cities, villages, ruins and rain forests on our Ancient Peru & Machu Picchu tour. Here, she shares her favorite moments along the way.
This is one of my favorite photos that I took in Lima, at the Park of Love! It was so unexpected to see this tiled bench with the ocean in the background.
A favorite day was when a group of us woke up extremely early to make it to Machu Picchu to see the sunrise! It was beautiful, and a prime time to get photos of the ruins with so few people around.
Visiting the local communities was a great way to see how the people there live. This girl is dressed in traditional Peruvian clothing in Chincheros Village.
Exploring the Amazon on the post-tour extension was a dream come true. I never imagined in my life that I would go piranha fishing in the Amazon River! This is a photo of one of my fellow travelers giving it a try—she did catch a few!
I also loved hiking the canopy walkway. It was another early morning, but we were able to see the sunrise on the Amazon River, hike for a bit in the rain forest and then view the rainforest 115 feet in the air.
