A self-professed foodie and runner, our Social Content & Community Marketer, Melissa, will embark on a 9-day Food & Wine Tour through Tuscany and Umbria.
What do you do at Go Ahead?
My job is to create and manage all of Go Ahead’s social media content, which is a ton of fun—yes, I get to sit on Facebook and Twitter all day! But what it’s really about is finding content that resonates with our travelers and shows our audience all of the cool and knowledgeable things we’re doing.
Where have you traveled to before? What has been your favorite trip?
I’ve been to Spain, Italy, Switzerland, Amsterdam, Belgium and a lot of the U.S. I studied abroad in Granada, Spain, so that’s hands-down my most memorable and incredible trip.
What is your favorite thing about visiting a new place?
The food! To me, a country’s culture and traditions are so evident by the type of food they eat. I love exploring a new destination by trying all of the local cuisine and traditional dishes, even if they might be a little unusual.
Do you usually bring back souvenirs? What kinds?
I’m actually the worst at collecting things. I’m hoping to snag some art for my apartment this time around. To be perfectly honest, I usually bring home whatever food treats I can legally get back on the plane.
What are you most excited to do or see on your tour?
Is “everything” an answer? I’m so excited to try the Tuscan cooking class (and make pasta from scratch!) and get a look at a different part of Italy. I bet those landscapes are INCREDIBLE.
